"What a time to have to get surgery!" I told my doctor. Hernia surgery. My wife couldn't believe how long they said I could be out of work. But if you know me- they said I may need 4-6 weeks off but I will try to be back in 3!
Honestly, it might turn out okay after all! If I have to be in bed for a few days, I hope to be able to send out emails, make phone calls, and get paperwork done! There is so much I hope to get done! So this pause in life, I think the Lord is taking it and working it out for good!
The hernia surgery was semi bad news, but now here is the good news! We have had several new sponsors! Verkleeren Family, CFS Bank, Hope Church and Laurel Institute are all donating $500 each. It's a good thing (and we hope for a lot more) because I got the tent bill! For tables, chairs, handwashing stations, and tents we are looking at around $10,000. And the porta john bill is over $4,000.
We have had several new vendors requests and some food trucks/booths too.
It has been so busy with the 250 that I almost forgot that my wife will be opening the shop up soon! April 25th will be the first weekend open.
But before this surgery, you know I have been super busy trying to get all sorts of stuff done on the farm. I have had piles of block and brick to move, old wagons and fence posts and lumber and tents and hen houses to move around on the property. I have been tearing old fences down and will need to put up new posts soon. Penndot dumped a lot of "dirt" off on the property last year and now I need to move it around and try to level the ground up in several places. I have to say a big shout out to Bob Gigliotti and Caleb for coming to the farm to help me with a bunch of that work.
Our next planning meeting is on for April 9th - a week after my surgery - but it should all be good! I hope to see you there!
